No technical controls are perfect, and ensuring employees can identify and prevent attacks that bypass technical controls is vital to prevent them from success. User awareness and monitoring should be managed to ensure effective and consistent culture. 

The potential risk of a cyber attack on organisations also increases with the demand for digitalisation and remote working, resulting in more and more employees being connected to the corporate network remotely, potentially increasing the attack surface.

What we do

North Star provide a complete blend of training programmes, exercises, teachings and assessments, depending on your needs. Our team will work with you prior to an engagement to understand your current requirements and your long term goals.

All training will be conducted by a dedicated team of offensive testing experts, who are all formally accredited. A basic training package included:

  1. Introduction to cyber security
    The dedicated North Star Instructor will introduce cyber security, how cyber has developed over the years and stress the importance of having a strong and positive cyber posture throughout the business.
  2. Real-life examples
    The session will include the instructor presenting the audience with the results of successful social engineering with interactive and practical examples of how criminals can again access both work and home environments.
  3. Current threats
    Provide the audience with a good knowledge base of current threats from lower end cyber criminal mindsets and tactics to the different nation state actors and their methodologies.
  4. Cyber hygiene promotion

By the end of the session, all end-users should have an understanding of the importance of identifying and know how to identify malicious activity.
